Ingredients

1/2 cup - PICANTE SAUCE
1 tbsp - CANOLA & VEGETABLE OIL,
1/2 lb - CHICKEN BREAST, RAW, broilers or fryers, meat only
2 cloves - GARLIC, RAW
10 3/4 oz - ONION SOUP, CONDENSED
1 cup - WHITE RICE
1/2 lb - SHRIMP, BUTTERFLY, FROZEN, frozen
4 oz - GREEN PEAS, FROZEN
1/2 lb - TURKEY SAUSAGE, 10% FAT, Polska Kielbasa, smoked, 90% fat-free

Directions

HEAT oil in skillet. Add cut up chicken, sausage and minced garlic and cook until browned. Pour off fat.

ADD one can soup and picante sauce. Heat to a boil. Stir in rice, shrimp and peas. Cover and cook over low heat 5 min. or until done. Serves 4.

Jambalaya takes its name from "mixing of things"--and, there are many variations of ingredients that may be mixed in this classic Creole dish-beef, pork, sausage, chicken, shrimp, crayfish, oysters, etc., and a variety of vegetables, including green pepper, celery and tomatoes.
